Happy Monday Tuesday

It’s the 2nd most Monday-est Tuesday of the yr. Second only to Memorial Day.  Hope you and the fam had a fantastic weekend. (That is why this still counts as a Monday, by the way)

TIMELINE DOTS

  • It was a HOT week and much to our dismay and our joy, most of Tessa’s softball games were cancelled.

  • Ruthie found her homecoming dress! She actually found 2, but they were from Plato’s Closet and cost $20 for the both.  #winning

HOLY SPIRIT MOMENTS

  • Not sure I realized this until I was studying it with our Community Bible Study group, but did you know that Paul was praying for the church in Colossae (the book of Colossians), but he never visited the church? I always that that he had visited them and then wrote to them later to encourage them. He had met Epaphras, and knew that God was moving it whatever he was doing there. That’s faith! And just freaking cool.

  • Do I live a life of tasks, but leave little room for faith? That’s been nagging at me lately.

BEST/WORST PHOTOS

This is good AND bad… this is how many eggs I get a day. Like… I’m drowning in eggs. I’m getting my egg license renewed so I can sell them again, but COME ON! This is CRAZY

This one is sooo fun… Ruthie asked her BFF, aka my 4th daughter, to HOCO just in case they don’t get asked by anyone. :) We were laughing later that, kids are already having problems communicating face to face, so these posters are just large text messages… they still aren’t asking each other to the dance. But I like this one. I’m sure Rue found it online, but still…

3 THINGS I’M GRATEFUL FOR

  • My second cousin, Ron & his wife Linda came into town this last weekend. It was so good to catch up.

  • The employees are my store are amazing!

  • Automatic chicken waterers. (If you saw it on my IG stories, you know!)

TOP RECIPES

  • I call it country stir fry… using up lots of half used veggies, smoked sausage, some shrimp found at the bottom of the freezer and chicken breast.  Cut, sautéed, and sprinkled with some Slap Ya Mama!  So good. #chefskiss

  • Everything else was blah, or leftovers

FINAL BRAIN DUMP

A few weeks ago, I was wrestling with what God’s next step might be for me in speaking and serving outside my local church. I’d almost convinced myself that speaking was simply part of my season as WMU state president—and maybe that season had come and gone.

Then a friend was preaching on the body of Christ and spiritual gifts. I was half listening, half running through my to-do list, when we got to 1 Peter 4:10–11 which I’ve heard millions of times: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.”

And I stopped. My throat tightened. I felt grabbed by the words, and the moment is still vivid in my mind. My friend T keeps pointing out something I didn’t catch at first: I felt it in my throat. The very place my words come from.

I don’t think that was an accident. I believe God is preparing my heart for something. I don’t know exactly what yet, so for now, I’m waiting—patiently, but actively.

But the throat thing? Something’s goin’ on.

Have you ever had one of those moments when God got your attention in a way you couldn't ignore? I'd genuinely love to hear about it.
